I spent
thirty-three years as a funeral director in a family business
with a reputation for integrity, accountability, quality,
professionalism and personable service. I co-created with
family members inspirational and compassionate life celebrations
for a diverse urban clientele. I have a tremendous love for
people and a personality that attracts people. I refer to
myself as "Listening Woman". I have learned a lot
about human nature by just listening.
In 1972,
I graduated from Worsham College of Mortuary Science. My Bachelor
of Arts Degree received from Roosevelt University in 1992.
In 1995, I received a certificate of completion from DePaul
Executive Computer Program. I have completed numerous hours
of continuing education requirements locally, nationally and
abroad. I lectured at Malcolm X College and presented workshops
like "Women in Funeral Service." I developed death
and dying educational programs for churches and schools, founded
the "Lovely Ladies" widow support group and facilitated,
"Females in Funeral Service," a professional network
group.
My professional
affiliations include memberships and leadership roles with
the Illinois Funeral Directors Association, Illinois Selected
Morticians Association, Cook County Association of Funeral
Home Owners, and The National Funeral Directors Association.
My past
life experiences have set the course for my life purpose,
which is to help others find opportunities of joy through
life challenges. Time has confirmed my belief that "your
only limitation is your own imagination."
I successfully
completed my training delivered by The Institute for Professional
Empowerment Coaching, (IPEC) to become a Certified Empowerment
Coach and Certified Genos Emotional Intelligence Coach. Research
Partner Swinburne University of Technology, Australia.
I am a
spirited and spiritual person and a champion for positive
change. I can feel my unlimited potential strengthen my personal
voice and enhance my inner power. I am living my dreams with
joy now. Discovering my greatness enhances me as a person,
coach, parent, grandparent, and friend. I am a true example
that dreams do come true.
I am taking
the next step by embarking on a bold and ambitious venture
by creating Just One
You Empowerment Coaching, which
promotes Personal Joy Coaching, Business Development Coaching,
Emotional Intelligence Management and Professional Education.
